Btw. Do you have any idea why the last letter is cropped? It sometimes is and sometimes isn't.

Verify the size of your text layer ?
I can't check it directly: the download does not work for me (_very_ slow and then stopped)

No this shouldn't be the problem. The text layer is long enough.

I§ll try to upload the skin here. I have no idea why the download doesn't work for you.

Upload worked fine. In tagged a file the same way as your preview shows and... it acts the same! Changing the font name / size fixes it. Weird. A bug ?

Here is my first skin which i mashed up in an hour. Its a simplistic black vista style skin which fits nicely in a windows xp titlebar but on request i will make a thinner version. Hope you like it!

Minimalistic Aqua Look skin, 4 different colors.

There's no border at the top as it was designed to be placed at the top of the screen, filling the room the title bar would usually take.

I recommend using it with about 10% transparency

My first serious effort at creating a title skin to match my current Foobar configuration. It took at least a week on a tight schedule to create the layout and get everything arranged properly. I am still not satisfied with the text layout, however.

A few pixels thinner and it would work perfectly for me (Windows Classic)

Hello,

I wanted a replacement for tbar (v0.8x, a component that displays song information on the front window title bar) and I found foo_title could do better (replacing tbar AND miniview).
I took EpS foostick version and remove everything except a few buttons with transparent background. And there it lies discretely on top of my screen !

Enjoy foobar2000 !

I'm sorry, is it supposed to display the cover of the album it plays? If so, how? I only get the no-cover image.

in preferences of the foo_title component you have to set up the directory where your album art images are stored.

I noticed on one of my longer songs (> 10min) that the time ticker wrapped and looked really weird.  I bumped the width of that text layer (name="time") up 10 px and adjusted the trackinfo layer accordingly.  Not sure if anyone else noticed that.

In the spirit of skins that look like boring standard UIs, I have created a skin that fits right in with Windows.  I basically took a screen cap of a Visual Studio 2005 toolbar and foo_title-ified it.  Hence the name, foolbar.  Here's what it looks like:

foolbar_1.0:

foolbar_1.1:

foolbar_1.2:

and the skin itself is attached.  Scotty J, I borrowed heavily from Vista Carbon.  Since this is my first skin, I wanted to base it on something that looked great to start with.  Also, the cropped foobar logo is just like in Vista Carbon, but I'd like to make that a non-cropped image when I get the time.  Buttons were gently and tenderly ripped from foo_ui_columns.dll.

(Edit: And I'm now using Tahoma as Verdana rendered with last chars chopped, odd)
(Edit [2006.10.09]: v1.1 - Fixed foobar button, added Search button)
(Edit [2007.03.30]: v1.2 - Added more text using two lines, text displayed is based on playback state.)

How do I disable "always on top"? I'm using nait's skin and I've got the whole cover and stuff over my browser, what is very annoying

It's not actually an option, so you can't disable it.  However, this feature has already been requested... by you...

No reply in that thread, I know, but I think Quiark has added a menu command to enable/disable foo_title, which might do what you want.  Don't think that's released yet, but if you set foo_title to not be always on top, how would you get back to it?  There's no alt-tab entry or taskbar button for it.

how about closing the window on top of it?

there should really be a "pin to desktop" feature

Sure, if you just open one window on top of it... maybe most people don't have much open, but I have tons of windows on two screens open... it would get lost for me.

Pin to desktop, would that behave like the Windows taskbar when you check "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows"?  It basically reserves part of the desktop for the taskbar, so when other windows are maximized, that isn't usable space.  That would be pretty cool.

"pin to desktop" as in nail it to the desktop  the opposite of "always on top"

Hi everyone. First Post

I've been playing around with foobar for a while, but I had not registered..
I just found this component, I love it! So, I did this for myself, and thought I'd share it.

The two "foobar icons" on the left are for activating and shutting off foobar.

Cheers
