Hi,
I have a set of shn files but one the files is corrupt. The problem is that the data is corrupt only for about 1 second (1 second of loud white noise), but it changes the rest of the file as well. ![]() I'd like to know if there is a way to delete the corrupt data and be able to decode the rest of the file properly. Or if there is a way to "manually" correct the file, by "shifting" the rest of the file (everything that is past the error in the file seems shifted as seen on the picture) using some software. I'd like to know if there is a way to delete the corrupt data and be able to decode the rest of the file properly. No, the lack of data would propagate to the rest of the file much like the corrupted data does currently.Or if there is a way to "manually" correct the file, by "shifting" the rest of the file (everything that is past the error in the file seems shifted as seen on the picture) using some software. From the image it looks like a very small error in the actual file, perhaps as little as a single bit. However, without detailed knowledge of the Shorten format and lots of patience, you would not be able to fix that. Shifting the audio as you call it should be possible in an audio editor (sorry, I don't know which tool would allow this), as well as muting the garbled section or copying over data from the other, unaffected channel.

Notice how the offset changes after that as well. I guess the source is like that too. Wouldn't just a single bit error corrupt the entire file?

no the source doesnt seems to be like that, the other songs are perfectly fine and dont have this "shifted" effect (it affects the sound in a strange way, kinda narrowing it) .
If anyone knows a tool/function to shift it back I would really appreciate it. |
