I just picked up the iGroove iPod speaker system from Klipsch last week. What awesome sound!!! Circuit City had a great deal. Nice bass, escpecially for the price at $100 less than the Bose SoundStage.
The problem I am having is that my wife's 8GB Nano won't fit using the adaptor that they provided. I had the same exact problem with a JBL SoundStage I bought (and subsequently returned - yuck!). The adaptor doesn't line the nano up properly with the dock connector. Did Apple so something really dumb and change the dimensions of the Nano between the first and second generations? Are the 8GB nano dimensions slightly different from the others? Anybody else noticed this problem? I've posted to Klipsch's discussion board but have yet to receive a response. A search here didn't show anything either. Thanks for your help! |

Yes, it is Apple after all. The dimensions are drastically different between the 1G and 2G Nano. So that 1G Nano stuff will not work with 2G Nano stuff. Albeit, the port is the same, the physical dimensions between the two are not. All 2G Nanos are the same though. No difference between the 2-8GB 2nd Gen. Nano, other than color. - Ali G This post has been edited by Gow: Nov 7 2006, 21:42 -------------------- Zune 80, Tak -p4 audio library, Lossless=Choice

Thanks for the confirmation Ali G. I noticed that the port itself is the same. I can plug it in without the dock adaptor installed. Fortunatly it docks pretty sturdily if I dock it while it is still in it's protective case. I can't believe Apple did this. They literally just slid the dock connector over a few millimeters. Otherwise, the nano fits in the adaptor.
So I've sent an email off to Klipsch to see when/if they plan to make new adaptors available. |
