I'm really impressed with new UI and components. Finally changed from old-customized Navigator theme to something new. Organizing music is so much nicer now.
Besides of what is mentioned in feature proposals thread (colors, tabs, alignment, spectrum options are the most important for me) I dare to suggest a few other things: - $caps2 feature in properties window - Selected files count in statusbar (if playlist is long, there is no easier way to tell if what we see as selected, is all that its really selected) - Would be nice if double clicking on row generated by grouping scheme (in playlist) could call properties window (or possibly be configured to anything else), now it plays first track from this selection (pointless IMO as the same can be achieved by double clicking one line below) - In selection properties element - could there be added option to disable display of caption? In my case, this component is set up that each information (Metadata, Location etc) is displayed in its own tab - so the same information as in caption is already in tab name. - Now its hard to include all information in grouping scheme, for me perfect would be: album artist, year, album, genre, AG, totaltracks for full information. I wish that there could be added second line to grouping scheme, preferably with smaller font. - Borders for collumns This post has been edited by JoyO: Nov 1 2007, 20:45 |

a (not small) feature request :
can see the album art in the playlist, like in Windows Media Player or in foo_ui_panels. |

It would be very nice (and i think its also very easy to implement) if we could add a resizable space in the toolbar (like the one in the Firefox toolbar - only more precise). This would help to position the other ellements (like buttons or volume control) anywhere in the toolbar. Right now i had to use the "layout editing mode" button so i can keep the volume control on a normal size.

I love the new foobar beta. I appreciate that the authors are trying to make this incredible program more friendly for beginners (like me) whith the new default UI.
I was wondering if custom capitalization schemes will be possible in the future. Maybe a option in "Preferences" - ... - "Properties dialog" could be added for the "Capitalize" command. Not all languages use the English capitalization scheme, and I prefer "feat." instead of "Feat." etc. |

Yes. But maybe not the new default UI. But you can always use a different UI than the default.

first of all: you did a wonderful job! chapeau!
one tiny feature request: is it possible make the ui element over which the mouse pointer is hovering react to the scroll wheel instead of the currently active ui element? that would add a lot of usability to the interface! thx, frncle --edit: the volume slider already works like that, if you could extend this function to the other elements, it would be perfect! request has already been posted by another user: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=58673 This post has been edited by fooruncle: Nov 2 2007, 15:47 |

It allows too many nonsensical combinations. How would you sort %artist% by %tracknumber%, for example? On one hand I'd say if the user really wants to do that nonsense, let him do, on the other hand I understand that this breaks the principle of easy configuration, because the user can unintenional do something he don't want to. In Facets, you can already add both Artist and Artist Sort columns, sort by the Artist Sort column, and finally hide the column by resizing it to a width of 0px. This is total sufficient. I didn't play too much with facets until now, so I didn't see this solution. But it can't be used for album list. |

Another small feature request besides the 'use scrollwheel on mouse-over ui element instead of active ui element' one (foosion, could you add it to the request list so it won't be forgotten?):
Create a new playlist on double click in the playlist manager. Having uninstalled CUI, frncle |

questions:
a. can i see the song that is curently playing in albumlist somehow? (i mean by clicking something) b. is playback queue visualized someplace? (like playlist?) c. is it possible to remember status, size, position of undocked components like eq or console? (they should survive the player restart) This post has been edited by smok3: Nov 3 2007, 14:31 -------------------- PANIC: CPU 1: Cache Error (unrecoverable - dcache data) Eframe = 0x90000000208cf3b8

Foosion's site ( http://foosion.foobar2000.org/0.9.5/ ) has foo_pqview, which allows you to turn a playlist into a queue viewer.

In the library/album list, I wish there was a "Clear" button to reset the search field

I installed beta 3 under Vista (32, UAC enabled) with the setting "Install for all users" enabled and "Enable per user settings" disabled.
When starting Foobar I need to select a theme, but when I do this I get the error "Theme could not be written Access Denied". Procmon says access is denied writing the file theme.fth.tmp in the foobar map itself. |

Procmon says access is denied writing the file theme.fth.tmp in the foobar map itself. The users profile switch should never be disabled under Vista. UAC does not allow unlimited access to folders such as "program files". Therefore programs themselves also can not write files to said folder without running into various issues. Therefore programs themselves also can not write files to said folder without running into various issues. Maybe the installer can be changed to warn users running Vista not to use this option? (Maybe it wasn't clear from my post but I'm well aware about the Vista rights in the program files folder) |

The installer will either be changed so that this option will be greyed out where it really shouldn't be used or some other other option along those lines to warn users of this behaviour.

In 0.9.4 the current volume (in dB) was displayed in the lower righthand corner, is there any way of getting that back? As much as I like 0.9.5 I hate not seeing what volume foobar is set to, and I don't want to use the volumeslider.
