Please post your screenshots to the gallery thread:
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=58574 ![]() I've recently grown fond to the above layout with the 0.9.5 Default UI including the Facets component from Frank Bicking. Note: That is not the regular playlist dropdown, so don't even ask how to get icons in there. how did you make the pointer for 'now playing'? Moderation: Added link to the actual gallery. Right-click on the column headers, choose Columns, Playing.
Edit: Oh, and before anyone asks about it: No, it's neither possible nor planned to add images by means of title formatting. This post has been edited by Frank Bicking: Oct 27 2007, 23:44 -------------------- foobar2000.audiohq.de

It's easier to do good things with 0.9.5 than with scpl or panelsui, I suppose that it will not be better than them but the new gui is awesome.

Is there detailed information available yet for working with albumart? QUOTE Also, the playlist doesnt seem to follow what's playing. Make sure to enable Playback, Cursor Follows Playback. PS: Thanks for using Facets. -------------------- foobar2000.audiohq.de

Thanks for info Frank. I looked all over the preferences and right clicking on the playlist but I didn't check the main dropdown menu. I also got the no cover image worked out. I can only hope that the album art filenaming will become more flexible in the future. I prefer to use descriptive filenames for the art instead of generic "folder.*, cover,*, etc" and the thread you directed me to indicates that I am not the only one.

QUOTE Please post your config file: File > Preferences; in the "Default user interface" section click on "Export theme", then click "Ok" (with all Theme Sections checked). Many Thanks. Moderation: Split from the Default UI Gallery. Questions etc. will be moved here. This post has been edited by Frank Bicking: Nov 1 2007, 11:32 |

I don't think it goes at all well and means the UI has too much contrast. Each to their own though. The best ones I see are ones that integrate well with the visual style. But that requires having a decent visual style.

Thread needs more compact layouts with a dark theme which actually match windows style I kind of like that one. I like minimalist GUIs. After all, computers are used for many things. Why waste your entire screen on something as trivial as music playback? I'm trying to shrink my own layout as much as I can. It is proving challenging with the new GUI, though. |

@Laemtao:
Well new DUI does to some extend already provide quite a few ways to create compact layouts. Besides of a "compact menu", the only other way i can think off which would allow to pack more features into given space, or reduce space used by current features, would be something like "autohide-containers". So, for example hiding everything except of the playlist, and then creating some hotspot at the window edge which would slide out a container with more elements. But besides of that, i cannot think of other ways to shrink down layouts even more - at least not without significant disadvantages. -------------------- I am arrogant and I can afford it because I deliver.

I feel this thread may get a little repetitive... Indeed! The new UI makes it very easy to create a decent layout. I copied shakey_snakes layout because it looks almost like the layout i had with columns ui (so no need to post it again). Now i only need a trackinfo panel. But don't want to use foo_dockable_panels... |

Is that the standard vista visual style? It looks different to me. Also, what are you using for the window shadows? I'm using XP, the visual style is Royale Vista II by dobee, I apply the visual style and shadow effect with Styler (there's a download link for styler on the visual style's page) Note: the shadow effect is a little resource hungry, especially when you have lots of windows open at once. Here is my config... I think I've done a decent job on it. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l46/1San...iac/Config2.jpg I think you should split properties panel in three, since you have the room (at right). This post has been edited by pirlouy: Nov 1 2007, 09:58 |

How to place lyric show component in default UI, ans where to download it? unfortunately there is no lyrics component for default ui. you can try dockable panels approach explained in several threads in "3rd Party Plugins" forum. This post has been edited by radio_cascara: Nov 1 2007, 11:12 |
