As stated here, I've tested my drives with the DAE quality test from the EAC homepage.
Further explanations about the test procedure can be found here, so here are the facts about the Toshiba SD-R5372: Drive: Toshiba SD-R5372 Firmware:: TU56 Test at full speed ("Actual" speed setting in EAC) Image http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....ost&id=4276 DAE log Errors total Num : 8524 Errors (Loudness) Num : 2250 - Avg : -81.8 dB(A) - Max : -24.1 dB(A) Error Muting Num : 8 - Avg : 1.1 Samples - Max : 2 Samples Skips Num : 0 - Avg : 0.0 Samples - Max : 0 Samples Total Test Result : 85.7 points (of 100.0 maximum) EAC log CODE Exact Audio Copy V0.99 prebeta 4 from 23. When you look at the graphs, it seems that dirt on a disc (simulated by the printed triangle on the test disc) gives the drive more problems than scratches, which were handled equally well with the different drive speeds. |
