Same as here but with "-V 4" instead of "-V 2". --vbr-new is required if you want in enabled IIRC (now it is enabled by default in e.g. 3.98).
LAME 3.98 is the recommended LAME version now though. Arite. This post has been edited by Arite: Apr 2 2009, 20:15 |

Works with 3.93.1, works with 3.95.1 but doesn't work with 3.94b.
Maybe the exe is buggy? DL'd the zip from two different locations. Does anybody have a link to a working version of 3.94b? Or maybe even to a dll-version I can use with CDex? |

Just out of interest why do you want to use that particular version?

Lame 3.98.2 is the way to go. Download it at http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php

Lame 3.98.2 is not an alpha version.

Not sure if this will do anything, but you don't need the space between the "V" and the "4". So try "-V4" instead of "-V 4"
Also try running directly from a command prompt to see if it works or if perhaps you get a more descriptive error message. This post has been edited by uart: Apr 3 2009, 18:55 |

I mimicked the compression options page you gave (EDIT: including the space between the V and the 4) and it worked just fine. Your problem lies elsewhere.

Could you maybe upload yours to sendpace or somewhere else? |

Thank you very much, john33!
This one is working. It's much bigger than the exe I have (only ~255KB). |

Well, this one was compiled using Intel 9.1. The other one may have been compiled with an older compiler and/or may have been compressed with UPX. Either way, at least this one works.
