Hi,
Been a bit of a lurker for a while, but signed up cause recently i have had a problem. I re ripped all my cds several months ago with EAC using v2 settings. They all ripped fine. A couple weeks ago i randomly put my whole collection in audio identifier to check for any poor quality files when i found this: ![]() Took me weeks to work out what was wrong. I think the problem was that the id3 tags had corrupted, worked this out using encspot: ![]() Removed all id3v2 tags and voila.... ![]() How the hell did this happen? anyone any ideas? many thanks |

Did you have EAC add the tags or did you use the command line with Lame?

Well i checked the quality after the rip anyway.... and it was the same as the bottom pic. So i am thinking some program has messed it up..?
anyway cmd line is: -V 2 --vbr-new --add-id3v2 --ignore-tag-errors --ta "%a" --tt "%t" --tg "%m" --tl "%g" --t is this still a good one to use? |

Well, I am no EAC+Lame expert by any means but the recommended command line when using EAC and Lame is:
CODE -V 2 --vbr-new --id3v2-only --pad-id3v2 --ta "%a" --tt "%t" --tg "%m" --tl "%g" --ty "%y" --tn "%n" %s %d That is for id3v2 tags only. You might want to try that in the future. My guess is that the "--ignore-tag-erros" option is doing something here. Maybe someone with more experience (and knowledge) will chime in.
