System restore was the thing causing the problem, and I reverted back to a time where the playlists were perfectly fine.
and foo_jesus didn't work as foo_plorg won't load the configuration, for some reason it completely ignores it and places all the playlists in folder called 'New'.When I jumble the playlists around and put them in different folders and then shut down foobar2000, delete the config file, open up foobar2000, it still shows the jumbled around playlists. As if it completely ignoring what it says in the config.
And equally important, it also doesn't put new data into the configuration file, no matter how much playlists I do put in folders the config stays like this:

Have you checked the read/write permissions for the foobar program and application data folders?

You need to install the 32bit runtime, even if you are on a 64bit windows, methinks - that's the way it worked for me.

a request:
since I use drag'n'drop of music tracks really frequently, holding CTRL every time to target a playlist is nonsense. If someone finds that feature useful, could there at least be an option to reverse drag and drop behavior (Left mouse to drop a selection to playlist; Left mouse+CTRL to create a new playlist)?

I've added the point to the todo list "Get rid of Ctrl key and merge it's behavior (adding the dropped content to a playlist) in normal operation"

Would not load for me, either.  Running Foobar 1.1.5 on XP (32 bit) platform.  Please help...


Error Message:

Failed to load DLL: foo_plorg.dll
Reason: This component is missing a required dependency, or was made for different version of foobar2000.
