I have a lot of my own recordings and mixes and converted them to flac-format. Never did it occur to me to calculate checksums and store them along with my flacs. Now my question now is. Do flac files maybe incorporate some kind of checksum to check whether a file is becomming corrupt or not?

flac files store an md5 hash for the raw audio data by default, yes.
-------------------- Everything sounds the same until it is proven otherwise.

Ah great! So when will you know when a flac becomes corrupt?

the flac commandline decoder has a test function, it will attempt to decode the audio and tell you if it has any errors or doesn't match the checksum. foobar also can test, see the context menu 'verify integrity' -------------------- Last.FM Nodes for your library @ http://build.last.fm/item/356
