As I am in need of new headphones, PX100 broke again and again, I am in a search of a cheap replacement - I can't afford anything above 30$ right now
Anyone heard of them? They may be german or switzerland made, concerning the name "Prinz"... but never heard of them. Google didn't reveal nothing. |

@botface: They looked cheap alright, and I've got only a brief chance of listening to them... they sound rather OK, but with elevated higher midrange. I could get used to that, but I am not into buying that vintage equipment for daily use, I'd fear they would fall apart
As of your suggestions - I am not living in America or EU, and the stores try to make me pay enormous shipping rates. Arnold, I know about Superlux, but I haven't found them for that price; I found them for 30 euros, and even without postage of 10 euros they are too expensive for me. Whilist PortaPro are 30$ on Amazon, last time they were available here they were something around 45$ - and for that kind of money they are too expensive. The same goes to the rest of the headphones. I've done some researching, and wanted to go for these two: Maxell DHP-II (these are too expensive, though) or Coby CV185. I've had PortaPro before, and as Senns, they are not the headphones to use really everyday when commuting, at least two hours daily, in the sun or the rain. The worst part of them is the connector, and I can't solder replacement one properly on the isolated wires Senns have. I can't even open them and solder replacement wires to the driver. Considering their price here (senns are twice as expensive! as on Amazon), they are, for me, bad experience. I will try to buy at least something - I like to read, but it is hard in the trains here - can't keep focus on the text. |
