I am a complete newbie about ripping and don't much about my drive.

All tracks accurately ripped No errors occurred End of status report Out of the 10 discs I've recently tried, only 3, including this one, had all the tracks accurately ripped with no errors. They sounded great. The others had about 1 or 2 songs with errors. On one disc, Coldplay-Parachutes, every song but the last one ripped. Everyone used error correction quite a bit (these aren't new cds). All WAVS were converted to FLAC. I orginally ripped some other cds with this guide - http://carltonbale.com/cd-audio-extraction, and had similar results. But, for these discs, I used this guide - http://blowfish.be/eac/Setup/setup1.html, which seemed to be more serious and accurate. Is this an ok guide to go by? I know that drive caching is important for proper rips but this is a brand new drive and I don't want to damage it which is why I'm asking you for some possible information on it. I've done some searching and checked out http://www.daefeatures.co.uk but cannot find my drive on there. Thanks for any help you can give me. Oh, thank you very much. But what I forgot to mention in the post (it was so long
Tip #1: If you're concerned that your drive caches audio data even though EAC is saying otherwise, try ripping a scratched disc (one known to produce errors easily). Make sure you uncheck the "Drive caches audio data" setting AND uncheck the "Drive is capable of retrieving C2 error information" setting. Make sure you also set the error recovery quality to "Low". If EAC is capable of displaying a read error then cache flushing isn't necessary. I changed the settings and put a really bad cd in and it detected the error. Can this be relied on? But I've heard that the EAC test is inaccurate. Don't believe everything you hear.I changed the settings and put a really bad cd in and it detected the error. It needs to be a read error; sync errors do not count.Can this be relied on? Based on the way EAC requests data and checks for errors, yes, absolutely.
