I took the freedom to compile an excerpt of the extensive compression results which mē has posted in the Alpha thread.

I haven't decided which one do I want to use yet...Really, I expected TAK to do better. I feel quite comfortable with your results. For the 24/48 samples the performance of TAK -p4m is quite similar to Als -7 -o160 -t6. TAK compresses the t-set of the 24/96 samples better than Als -7 -o160 -t6, but indeed looses on the Foreigner 4 samples u, v and w. Would it be possible to send me one or two 30 second snippets of the Foreigner files, where ALS's advantage manifests? I would like to look for tuning opportunities.
