Make GRADO SR60i sound better in foobar2000

Hi! I will show you how to make Grado SR60i sound much better by using an equlizer to try to produce a flat response. My eq preset is based on the graph from headphone.com link.
The end result is based mostly on the accuracy of this graph an the quality of your sound card (mine ASUS XONAR-DX).

You will need:
- foobar2000 link
- foo_vst.dll link
- EasyQ VST link
- EasyQ preset created by me download

This is how I made it. 


This can be done with other set of headphones/speakers if you have the frequency reponse.

A flat response from your headphone is not always desirable. For instance you can see dips in the response ~7KHz and ~11KHz regions. These are the exact areas where resonance tends to occur in your ear canals. To equalize a headphone so the perceived response is flat you actually need to compensate for your ear's own resonance. The grado's might actually sound more pleasant with these dips than without them.
See this tutorial to EQ your headphone to your head. The technique the OP provided may provide a good starting point though. The grado's response is rather jagged and might prove hard to EQ when doing it by hearing alone.

Theres no such thing as a flat responce when it comes to headphones. The goal is rather to match the eardrum responce to that of speakers in a room. Such a responce differs wildly for each person so manufacturers deal with averages. Here's two such curves overlayed:

You best bet is taking a raw manikin measurement (here's one)and matching it to the above curves.
