foo_midi usage in portable mode?

For the foo_midi component, we need to specify paths for VSTs, SoundFonts, MUNT data files etc. But what if foobar is installed in portable mode and the path keeps changing because the drive letter might be different every time the USB stick is plugged into different (or even the same) machines?

So what I want to know is, are the paths stored relative to the foobar directory? If not, can this be done (preferably when foobar is installed in portable mode) so that SoundFonts etc. can be used properly without having to reselect the directory every single time?
