FLACs accessed from Denon 2112 - no gapless playback

I have a live CD ripped to FLAC using dBpoweramp. The files are located on my HP Media Smart server. I'm using a Denon 2112 to access the files on the server using Foobar. When playing back, the files are identified a WAV and do not play gaplessly. If I access the same files on the Denon via Mezzmo, they are correctly identified as FLAC, but of course, Mezzmo does not play back gaplessly AFAIK. If I access the same files from my PC and play them back via Foobar over the PC, they play gaplessly.

If you are still with me on this one, any ideas why the files are not correctly identified as FLAC and not playing back gaplessly when accessed via Foobar on the Denon network function?

Thanks and apologies if I'm simply overlooking the obvious.
