How can someone look so good and play like that. Just listened to Steve Vai together with Orianthi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7b-_YcACuQ...;feature=fvwrel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4oaTSMFYmw...feature=related and there is Ana.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewyvUc29a5I...feature=related And I thought there was just Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart. Amazing how alive the Blues is. This post has been edited by kraut: Mar 10 2012, 02:54 |

Having listened to some of Orianthi's cd's I have to say the first one - "Violet Journey" is still the most blues influenced one with excellent guitar playing and to me her best effort. The latter ones unfortunately for me are drifting more into the pop realm. As to noise - I guess you never visited a Hendrix live concert.... Ana seems to be a more mature player, and more in the tradition of SRV. Channeling is good, when you develop from there. |

But I must say I prefer listening to live Hendrix over studio Hendrix, and of any live material I collect Hendrix is the most sought after for me. I didn't even become a huge fan of Hendrix until I was exposed to his life playing. Raunchy, raw, emotional and loud doesn't necessarily equate to "noise" to me - he knew what he was trying to get at with all of it. Similarly I grew up listening to metal and there's lots of it that I love but lots I don't think much of, and most of that has to do with the emotion a song can put across. |
