which lame version?, lame version and switch

At 150-200Kbps mark?

So unless someone finds that the latest version is seriously flawed, HA generally recommends the latest version. I don't think there were recent public listening tests with different LAME versions. It's easy to find single (killer) samples that show slight regression, but the overall quality is thought to improve with every version. So you'll need a public listening test with a lot of participants and a wide choice of samples to prove that an old version is specifically better than the latest one. I think in most cases they would come out tied.
