Dual microphone noise cannellation

Now dual mic noise cannellation is widely used in smart phones, and i've read some paper like "REAL-TIME NOISE REDUCTION FOR DUAL-MICROPHONE MOBILE PHONES", it use fft to analyse the signal between the two microphone , i've tried this but it seems do not work very well.
Does any one know something about it ?
