Hi everyone!
I was wondering with DIY amps like the O2 if it's theoretically possible to use a 3 pin XLR jack instead of 3.5mm or 1/4 inch? I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I haven't really been able to find an answer. If it isn't possible, what is the difference between 3 pin XLR and 1/4 inch that makes this impossible? Any explanation would be greatly appreciated |

When folks see an XLR connector they assume it's one channel of balanced audio. Yours will work but may cause some questions because it's unusual in that it's 2 channels of unbalanced audio. XLRs are sturdy, heavy and they lock in. That's great for mic cables on a stage but sort of clunky for headphones. G² |
