Hi - I have not had problems with my ZPlayer or DivX player until about a week ago. TPB used to show just fine; now they start and stop, the audio gets garbled and the picture freezes. Same thing with VLC or PowerDVD. So it is not the individual software but something they link to in order to work. I am stumped. This does not affect the playing of a DVD, only AVI, MPG or similar off my HD.

Any ideas??? sad.gif

check the disk,

take a new file from some other media, make md5-sum, paste to your hd, check the md5-sum... (test with multiple files of different sizes).

Smok3 -

OK, will try in the AM. It's worth a shot. I just did the WXP "chkdsk" where it shecks the HD's before bootup. I may also run Gibson"s "SpinRite, but will try your suggestion first.

Thx.

Cheers
