Did i miss something, i try to encode some flac, one wav + cuesheet, but the addition of the cuesheet does absolutly nothing.

When played into F2K or Winamp, no trace of seek points, nor trace of the cuesheet anywhere...Bah i said, no big deal, when i'll decode my flac album it will give me the saved cuesheet, sad.gif no cuesheet on my screen blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

Please give me a cue how to handle cuesheet with flac encoder/decoder !

Soren

PS : yes i search the forum, and i didn't find anything who can asnwer my numerous questions.

read through "metaflac --help" It gives a detailed explanation of the command line arguments, including how to export the cuesheet from within the FLAC metadata.

Did, yu notice i edited my post a few minutes after i made it, i thought you wouldn't have read it by then. You need to use metaflac.

Use the command line

CODE

metaflac --export-cuesheet-to=XXX.cue filename.flac

where XXX is the name of the cuesheet you want to generate and filename.flac is your file.

A more pertinent reply ( I think ) would be this

I'm assuming you did Copy Image & Create CUE Sheet from EAC. You've got a .FLAC and a corresponding .CUE file now, and you want to be able to use the CUEsheet for seeking when playing back from Winamp or foobar2000.

I'm not sure about foobar2000, but I don't think the .FLAC plugin by X-Fixer allows reading of cuesheets from the tags ( better check with him to confirm though ).

What I did was to use the mp3cue plugin though. Latest version is 0.94 and can be obtained from here.

Hope that solves your problem.

Daybreak : If i leave the cuesheet in same directory as the flac files, Foobar will load the cuesheet and play the files perfectly. but i was more thinking about keeping only one file.

Kritip : Ah, i seen only the first version of the post rolleyes.gif , i'll try with metaflac smile.gif

Foobar does not support embeded cuesheets
Leonardo
which player are having a "embedded cuesheet" - support ?

or is it playable with the decoder or a decoder/Frontend like musepack over the commandline ?

After I was engaged with the same problem (played a bit with flac-format - still use .ape wherever I want to go lossless) I found using both would be the best solution - a flac-file with embedded Cue and a (the) Cue-file for playback.
So you don't have to worry about moving the flac-file.

As Ogg doesnt have CUE tables AFAIK, there will still be the option to have FLAC in matroska if you want to seek in the file .... but i have to apologize, we first have to get the most important video features into our code like chapters, because these people are actually using matroska right now, while audio people are obviously not so interested in it ....
