Apple set alight the touch paper on a smouldering mp4 standard when it launched its online music service, now it is THE standard everyone is scrambling for, especially useful on portable players with quality reproductions from reasonable bitrates.

The full release of the Apple iPod driver for Sveta Portable Audio is now available:

This driver is/was the first solution for uploading mp4 files to an Apple iPod with correct tagging. Thanks to www.hydrogenaudio.org and my own beta testers that have made this possible.

I'm confused. What is this saying? That this app can now decode, encode, and transfer mp4 files to your iPod?

I don't have an iPod or mp3 player, but I'm getting an iPod. Is this app any good? And who's encoder does it use?

It's quite good I can assure it. I've been using it since Beta 1.

Cheers.

This app is specifically designed to incorporate AAC/MP4 support for Windows-based iPods. Personally, I use it in conjunction with Ephpod.

Why would you use it with EphPod when it has full tagging support????

Do you think Ephpod is better, the only one that supports MP4 is the one in Beta testing!

I'm officialy getting an iPod. The new 30GB one to be exact. YAY FOR ME! biggrin.gif

So now I have some idea where to turn to for mp4 support on windows until the end of the year when iTunes for Windows is released smile.gif

I like the way Ephpod makes playlists and, more importantly, synchronizes directories. I don't have to keep track of what files I've already copied and what files I haven't copied. I just press the synchronize button and it copies the uncopied files to the iPod. Plus, I like the options Ephpod has for playlist making. It makes playlists by album in the following format: Album (artist). With long artist names, Artist - Album is hard to read.

But I've found that Ephpod's MP4 support sucks ass. First, it only looks for .M4P and .M4A files, so I have to rename my MP4's in order for it to synchronize. Then, it can't get the song names or anything like that. So now I'm just copying the files with DBPoweramp and making the playlists/synchronizing my MP3's with Ephpod.
