Full Version: Splitting big ape w/ cue

I just downed an album that was compressed into one big APE and included a CUE sheet. How can I split it into the separate tracks (I plan to encode to Musepack)?
Fallen_Knight
its mokey audio, lossless, so 1 easy way is to just decode to wav, edit the wav into the individual tracks and save.

One way - use Winamp with cue sheet plugin and Diskwriter output to split into individual wav files, then encode with musepac.

This is probably possible with foobar too, but I don't use it because it isn't pretty enough! (and it doesn't have an album list function like the winamp Albumlist plugin that lists all albums in artist/album hierarchies - or can foobar do this? sad.gif )

.dd.

foobar2000 worked nicely. Used foo_mpcenc to write directly to Musepack. B)

BTW, yes, foobar2000 has an Album list. wink.gif

You can do it easily with Monkey's Audio.
1. Create .apl files with the "Make APL" utility (in the tools folder)
2. Start up monkey's audio, choose "Mode->Convert"
3. Load the .apl files you just created
4. From the "Convert" menu choose your preferred encoder (make sure the respective .exe is located in the "external" folder)
5. Configure the encoder
6. Fire & Forget smile.gif

Dunno if that's easier than the foobar way, since I never grew too comfortably with that player. But I'd say it sure beats the "Winamp-Way" smile.gif

you could extract the .ape file back to the *.wav.
Then in EAC under the "Tools" pull down select "SPILT WAV By CUE Sheet."
Now you will have individual tracks.
