You can do it easily with Monkey's Audio.
1. Create .apl files with the "Make APL" utility (in the tools folder)
2. Start up monkey's audio, choose "Mode->Convert"
3. Load the .apl files you just created
4. From the "Convert" menu choose your preferred encoder (make sure the respective .exe is located in the "external" folder)
5. Configure the encoder
6. Fire & Forget

Dunno if that's easier than the foobar way, since I never grew too comfortably with that player. But I'd say it sure beats the "Winamp-Way"
