Full Version: mp3PRO problems in EncSpot & Winamp

When analyzing some mp3PRO files, I noticed that EncSpot correctly identifies the encoder as Thomson mp3PRO Encoder for ones made with MusicMatch, but incorrectly identifies the encoder as FhG (fastenc, low quality mode) for ones made with Nero. Furthermore, EncSpot identifies FhG (fastenc) as the encoder for variable bitrate files. Is there a way to tell EncSpot that those files were made with the mp3PRO Encoder so it will show correct information?

Also, Winamp detects mp3PRO files encoded with MusicMatch as being VBRI (what's the extra I?), but detects files encoded with Nero as being cbr. Are the Nero files missing a vbr header? If so, is it possible to add it?

Thanks for your help!

VBRi is a VBR header "standard" introduced by FhG.

The other usual standard is the Xing header.
