Full Version: problems with shorten compile?

While it seems to work for extracting a file, the shorten compile on the Rarewares lossless page doesn't seem to work with some of the other switches - at least, the seek-table related switches. Of the ones I tried:

Worked: -h, -i
Didn't work: -s, -k

Maybe there's some difference in the syntax it expects, or its ability to automatically name, etc. For those switches the naming is implicit / automatic.

Since I compiled them, I guess I'd better take a look at them!! rolleyes.gif I'll let you know what I find.

Well, I can confirm that they don't appear to work in any way I can figure out! rolleyes.gif If these are of critical importance to you, I suggest you report them to the appropriate site. From my own perspective, they are of no interest. wink.gif

Well, yes, I need them. I switched back to using the etree supplied cygwin version, those switches do work on that version.

If you're wondering what someone might use them for, see the discussion under "Seek Tables" in this etree forums thread.

Thanks for the info.

Just tried using the -s switch in the current compile (3.6.0), still not working FWIW. Works on the other cygwin version.

Would you be so kind as to try this one, please, and let me know whether it works, or not: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jfe1205/testshorten3.6.0.zip. Thanks. smile.gif
