is possible to send mp3 songs (and dvd audio) directly to my amplifier by digital out in audigy2? My Harman Kardon 4500 can decode mp3 and dvd audio.
It won't work for DVD Audio since the Audigy2 disables digital out during playback of this media. I don't know for mp3.

This was a hot topic on hardware.fr some monthes ago.
It seems that this amplifier supports MP3 streaming via the SPDIF input.
It seems there is a standard for streaming MP3 in SPDIF lines, just like AC3.
But we never heard about any soundcard supporting it, nor about any advantage it could provide over plain SPDIF.
Regarding digital streaming of DVD-A:
If you have DVd-A-Player and amp from same compynay, ie. HK and HK, or denon & Denon,
then you might be able to to use a "proprietary" digital link/connection (something like Firewire) (not simple/plain spdif !) between those 2 components of same manufacturer.
Have a look at the specs of the DVD-player and amps.
There is no DVD-A-Player/PC-soundcard, which is able to output DVD-A digitally in spdif, eg. 5 channel in 24/96.
But via those poprietary formats, there are.
That is an interesting thing, that in fact DVD-A can be given out digitally (but not simple coaxial or optical spdif) from the DVD-A-Player...
It is only a question, how to get the dig. signal, and to catch it to a PC.
Regarding mp3 (hey, use mpc, it is superior !) via spdif:
It doesn't make much sense to send mp3 ( or better MPC, by best way a la * ) via spdif to amp.
Use a good mp3/MPC 2 wav decoder in your PC, or a DVD-player, which decodes mp3 to wave, and use spdif.
