hey all,
I recenty started doing tests capturing video, and today I found quite a weird problem... When capturing some PS2 content in virtualdub as a test, I noticed the sound had heavy noise. I have connected the ps2's rcas with an adapter to jack to the line-in input of my CMI8738 (Winfast 6x), and the funny thing is, the sound outputs perfectly through the speaker out, the noise is "added" when recording.. and I actually have no clue of where the problem could be, so any ideas? I use XP, but it also happens with 2k (I tried) and I tested recording with Cool Edit 2.0, Virtualdub and the program that comes with the card, all with same results. I also tried recording with a sb128 in another computer, and this one is able to record perfectly with no noise.
Thanks!
edit: just add I tried recording from other sources, they don't "add" as much noise as the ps2 does, but the recordings have noise, less, but they have.
edit (again): I uploaded a sample: Click here - I repeat it sounds perfectly with the speakers, I guess I'll need to clean my sb128 and stick it...
