Well, building a nice frontend on top of open/free software, and also expecting something back from people are bigs no/no. Its almost like begging for someone else to do another free frontend. The author should have given up and released the sources. He is not "getting it". In open source, you give and not expect anything in return. It is altruistic in nature, just like scientists discuss openly and freely their works in academia. Of course you can sell your talent, or special support for your software, but thats another issue.
I also switched back to 1.1.4, as version 1.1.5 expires and 1.1.6 has features crippled, and also nag screens. I suppose next he will include some spyware, and then finally give up because that model doesn't work either.
