Ciao..

just wanna some quick answers..

1. how is the ripping quality in foobar..
compared to CDex and EAC..
*foobar uses akrip.. right.
a. how is akrip compared to paranoia..*
have tried to find some info. on that..
but no luck..

2. in encoding..(ex:mpc.) is there any quality
difference in using dll`s contra exe.

>exploring foobar< be gentle !!

I am not for certain, but I am sure that many will agree that those standalone rippers will do a far superior job than Foobar. Not knocking foobar, but i know EAC was created for the sole purpose of ripping, although he later added cd writing, and Andres created it because of the lack of quality in audio ripping. With eac you have the option of setting offsets, Secure ripping with C2 correction, and you get a report of the quality. As for the 2nd question i have no idea.

1. how is the ripping quality in foobar..

Comparable to other normal burst mode rippers. foo_cdda doesn't use any error detection/correction means, not even simple sector syncronization.

Nope.

This doesn't use it. It would probably be a waste for normal listening. Besides, it's not as secure as libparanoia or Exact Audio Copy. As far as I know, it's just simple rereading and/or overlapped reading. I know that sort of thing was never secure enough for my first drive, but that thing was a real piece of crap.

Implemant EAC secure mode in foobar 2000 and you'll get the best music player/ripper ever created.

You make it sound like that's an easy thing to do. wink.gif

If it was that easy ... it would already be existing ;-)

The thing is, that you have to be carefull that you don't overload foobar.
Lets quote Dr. Frankenstein: "Oh my god, I've created a monster."

But as a optional component (w00t)
