Hello!

I am looking for an ID3v2.4 tag editor which should also write tags at the end of the file (feature introduced in ID3v2.4 tags). Those are NOT ID3v1(.1) tags.

Thanks,
Licke

I have asked exactly the same question a couple of weeks ago... Have a look at Frontah.

Take a look at MP3/Tag Studio.

I tagged a file with Mp3-Tag Studio 3 and dBpowerAMP reported it as being an id3v2.3 tag. Then I tagged a file with Frontah, and dBpowerAMP won't even read the tag. I tried a couple of other programs, but they won't read the tag either. What WILL read 2.4 tags?

Edit: Sorry, to clarify, I meant to ask which player will read 2.4 tags. I know Frontah will read them, because as I mentioned above, I tagged a file with it and it worked.

Asa cum am spus mai sus, Frontah. La mine merge perfect. wink.gif

(As I said above, Frontah. It works perfectly for me.)

I would also like to know if there's any other player/tagger that can read/write ID3v2.4.

The ID3v2.4 capabilities of Frontah is not well tested, mainly because there's very few players who can read them.

Because of this, I would recommend not using ID3v2.4. Use ID3v2.3 instead, or APEv2 tags.

APEv2 gives even higher compatibility than ID3v2.4, because foobar2000 can read them (and soon Winamp).

Foobar2000 can read ID3v2 tags with an additional plugin written by kode54.
It is available at 'Thid party plugin' page.

Don't know whether it can read ID3v2.4, though, because I don't use it. You'd have to check it yourself.

I seem to recall an option in EAC to write ID3v2.4 tags.

Foobar with the ID3v2 plugin does ID3v2.4 as long as they are at the begining of the file.

The iFP series of Iriver portable flash memory players are listed as being able to read the folling tags...

ID3 V1 Tag, ID3 V2 2.0, ID3 V2 3.0, ID3 V2 4.0

... is that last one (ID3 V2 4.0) what you all are refering to as ID3v2.4?
/\/ephaestous
yes ID3v2 4.0 == ID3v2.4

my brother has an IFP-190T. i will see if it can read ID3v2.4 tags that are stored at the end of the file. smile.gif i'm interested.
