When freedom and privacy is getting compromised on Internet, maybe it is time to help a project like Freenet.

The help from good programmers around HA might be helpful. Donation for the others could be useful too.

Anybody interested in a new challenge? tongue.gif

Actually I'd like to see a project, which comprises the features of both Java Anonymity & Privacy (JAP)
(Mixmaster-like web browsing) and FreeNet.

That would be really secure...

OMG FreeNet is one such amazing tool that might have far reaching implications on the development of the web and society. I agree with most of the points raised in the Philosophy page apart from the Democracy argument. I didn't understand what it does first and after some tinkering found it out. How can I browse through FreeNet?

Unfortunately I found the freenet browsing a little bit slow. Maybe the sites like YoYo! etc was slow. Is there a way to make it faster? I use Sun Java 1.4.2 Runtime Environment.

Playing around with the settings (especially things like disk-cache size) and running a non-transient node should help. But currently there's not really much you can do about freenet's speed at all, except for trying to get more people to run nodes. But as long as there is a lack of illegal content (WareZ, movies, MP3s) on Freenet this probably won't happen.
