Well I made another icon for foobar2000.

That icon requires:
* Windows XP
* System color palette set to 32-bits (32-bits are default in XP).

Icon is smooth and 'lite'. It look very nice on light taskbar and tray. The size is 16x16 (I'll make 32x32 soon).

They seem to be broken.

They both work for me. It's a white :B with transparent background and has a shadow.


I like darker icons since I'm using the default silver XP theme.

I like the Icon very well! Is it possible to change the icon which is shown if fb2k is minimized to the taskbar?

You can always use IconMod, available at http://www.barciaonline.com/iconmod/iconmod.htm for pre 0.7 versions of Foobar. Simply place your Icon in the resources Floder of Iconmod and name it appropriately (ie, 106.ico - 111.ico). It also still inlcudes a few of my oen FB2K icons and will soon be updated to reinclude Sacrats Icons. Read the Readme for further instructions.

0.7 versions of Foobar support changing the System Tray Icon natively.

In fb2k 0.7 final you'll be able to set custom icon in tray (when minimized for example).
You can do it right now in 0.7 beta (if you like using betas).

It definately should. Worked fine for me at least. In case you are having troubles, make sure that ResHacker is in the Tools folder.

I think he means a taskbar button, not the system tray. The taskbar and task switcher icons are properties of the window class, controlled internally by the player. I even tried replacing the default icon, to no avail. Must be something I missed.

Perhaps that icons are now in foo_ui?
Btw, is it ok to have icons with different color depths in one dll?

You need to replace the first icon in foo_ui_std.dll as well as the in the foobar.exe file. You'll then get a different icon for the taskbar (not systray), the Foobar Main Window and the exe file.

Will update Iconmod for 0.7 as soon as it's final. Time to entertain the High Society once more

Hmmmm, I hope there is a big wave of effort to replace the horrible cat face icon for the system bar. A nice gunmetal sleek :B icon would be great to replace it.

Would love to use your icons in a future release of IconMod. So I'd like to ask you guys for permission to do so. The only thing is in case you do, I would also need 32*32 pixel versions of the icons. Nice work everyone.

32x32 and 48x48 added to the same file and uploaded to the same address. 16/32/48 ^_^ icon also linked in my previous post.

Revised .ico slightly, redownload fb2k_ico.zip for the updated version. (Thickened the lines by 1px, darkened the satin effect, changed emboss contour. Enjoy.)

Damn, it's still too thin at 16x16. Tray icon works better anyway.
