I know that a lot of the content in this article may be old news to most of you, but I found this to be an interesting read nonetheless. Windows Media Player, RealOne Player and QuickTime Player ALL have more users than Winamp?! I never thought I'd see the day... blink.gif

One of the things thats interesting about this is, it seems to me that
so many software companies make the mistake of wanting there software
to do everything. I don't know how everyone else feels about this,
but I like my applications to be separate. I don't want my graphics viewer
to play music, I don't want my mp3 player to play movies, and I certainly
don't want my browser to all of the above.

Let me pick which program I want to do what, and stop all the fighting
over file associations.

That's exactly how I feel about theese all-in-one solutions. Most of the time, they just don't do the job.
Plus you get that warm feeling if you use an aplication just for one purpose (e.g. winamp 2.81 for mp3), you tend to think that, if this prog. is o n l y for mp3s, then it's very specialised, thus very good. Whereas if you use e.g. win.mediaplayer for all, that just c a n' t be that good... smile.gif
And then there is the spy-issue again, concerning realone and win.mediaplayer...
So, to all the people out there: get winamp 2.x, get today, get it now!!!! biggrin.gif
