Well, at the rsik of annoying folks here, IMHO Foobar is the exact opposite of what you're asking for here. Its whole purpose in life is that of a simplistic player.

I did the same thing you're trying to do. Create a log-on screen of "JukeBox", and place the JukeBox software in the startup folder. Works great! The only downside is, it does take some initial setup work just by virtue of having to acquire the album art on the net. Of course, you don't
have to do the album art route, it just makes it that much nicer to use.
Try it out, but also, at least
try Foobar too. It is a nice player, I just don't think its in line with what you're asking.

BTW - Don't let the $150 dollar screen in the "options" window scare you, thats only for commercial use.
