Hi all, should it possible to make a new compile that's include --alt-preset by default? for example when we precise -b 128 then this will be encoding with --alt preset cbr 128 without care of the other switch??

This seems like a pretty good idea.

Yeah, could work. Of course it will not be 3.90.4 because it would not be any improvement (soundwise) to the recommend HA compile. It would just be a modified version, such as the one that existed for 3.90.2 that only encoded -aps.
Maybe you could try asking John33 really nicely

Cool guys I will asking for sure!! But the best is that I made it but I think I should have the associated skills This compile should be great for a simple DivX encoding with 3 in 1 softwares (like DivXmachine)

I did produce a version of 3.90.3 that was modified along the lines of what you're suggesting. ABR mapped to --preset ABR, CBR settings mapped to --preset CBR, -V settings (down to 6, IIRC) mapped to --preset medium, standard, extreme and the default was --preset standard. This was discussed in another thread and I think I posted a link for a download, but I can't find the right thread at the moment!!!

I amended the '-b 192', and similar CBR settings so that they were automatically mapped to the --preset CBR nnn equivalent. In other words, for CBR, you could only have '--preset CBR' settings.
