Full Version: Eac/lame Option To Specify Mp3 Directory?

Forgive the newbie qeusiton but I did check and couldn't find this:

I'm using EAC with LAME and my mp3s show up in the same directories as my wavs. Is there any switch I can set in the LAME command line or some other EAC option to set so that my mp3s get placed in a separate directory with the same file structure as my wavs are in? In other words, if my wavs are under c:my music\my wavs\genre\artist\album\wavs, I'd like my mp3s to show up under c:my music\my mp3s\genre\artist\album\mp3s.

I know I can do this manually using an editor program like id3tagit or tag&rename, but I'm looking to skip the extra step.

Thanks.

To get your mp3s to show up under c:my music\my mp3s\genre\artist\album\mp3s:

1. EAC Options>Filename: type "%I\%D\%C\%N %T"

You can set the Various Artists scheme to: "%I\Various Artists\%C\%N %T"
You can also change "%N %T" (number title) to give a different name to your mp3 files.

2. EAC Options>Directories>Use this directory: type "c:my music\my mp3s"

Thanks for responding. But actually, those are already my settings and they don't do what I'm looking for. What those settings do is to drop both the wav files from the EAC rip and the mp3 files from the LAME compression in the same directory. What I'm trying to do is to have EAC drop the wav files under one tree and then have things configured so that when LAME automatically compresses it automatically drops the mp3 files under another tree. Like I said, I can do this via id3tagit after the fact but I haven't figured out how to get the EAC/LAME combo to do it automatically.

Sorry, I didn't understand your question at first sight... Now, I don't have the answer though.
