Full Version: Musepack Nero Plugin Not Working

Maybe im missing something but i put the nxMyMpc.dll plugin into the Ahead\Shared\AudioPlugins directory. When i go to add an mpc file to my audio cd layout in nero i get an error message that says format not supported. Apparently its not loading the plugin. I was originally running version 5.5.10.7 so just to be sure i upgraded to 5.5.10.42 but it didnt make any difference. Some of my mpc files are made with 1.14, most are made with 1.15 although that shouldnt have any bearing. Anyone had this problem or have any tips?

I don't have this problem. I have some cdimage.mpc+cue albuns and I have no problems burning them to audio cds, using the "Burn Image" function. I also tested dragging some files made with v1.14 to an audio compilation and all went well (it plays them fine but I didn't burned the CD). I have Nero 5.5.10.35.

edit: did you renamed the dll?

QUOTE
The first two letters of the plugin DLL name must be "nx" in lower case, otherwise it will not be loaded by Nero Burning ROM.

Hope this helps :P

the file was already named appropriately (nxMyMpc.dll). I find this requirement peculiar since none of the other files in that directory follow this convention. Just for the sake of experimentation i removed 'nx' from the filename but this did nothing. Nero will still not accept .mpc files as a valid media. Its the damnedest thing, i tried using nero express even and musepack shows up as a filetype in the dropdown list under the add files dialog but when i add them to the layout it pops up an error that says: THE FILE FORMAT IS NOT SUPPORTED. Im half wondering if my nero install is somehow borked as everything seems to be in place.

yes

This has already been discussed there:

And it looks like no conclusion could be made.

Older releases would work for some users and not for others and the same thing would occur with the most recent one.

The plugin used to be updated very frequently but not anymore.

Did a clean installation of xp pro and nero 6. Ran all nero updates. Downloaded latest mpc plugin for nero, stuck it in Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Audio Plugins. Fired it up. Same stupid error. Mpc files have absolutely no tags whatsoever. Nero recognizes the plugin as it is in the list of loaded plugins. This is very frustrating, has there been any progress on resolving this allegedly random lack of functionality?

The very same thing happens to me, and furthermore I've been trying to remove the tag from the mpc file without success... I used the Winamp "Remove Tag" button.

But the tag is still there.

This is becoming annoying... I'll try with Nero 6 (now 5.5.10.35).
