maybe menno can answer this...I was at our local Best Buy store Saturday and they had the new 6.0 version on the shelfs. I was told there was no upgrade discount yet; but they expected it in a few weeks.
I thought the download was available on the 18th and the in-store boxed version a month later? Just wondered if the dates had been changed? Thanks- just a curious cadabra3 wink.gif

As far as I know, Nero6 will be available on the web on the 18th of July, and available in stores on the 18th of July in North America, and August 18th in Europe.

I guess the stores already have it in stock, but I'm not sure if it is meant to be sold already (guess not if the release date is the 18th).

Thanks, menno. Guess the store jumped the gun in stocking it on the shelves. Just sort of startled me to see it out there. rolleyes.gif Thanks again- cadabra3

I went to Best Buy today and I too saw it on the shelf. I also noticed that it comes with a CD Labeler Kit; perhaps this is one of the differences between the Ultra Edition and the regular?

I got it 3/4 days ago, haven't tried the mp4 encoder yet.

anyone know whether the release of nero 6 has been delayed? the download-from-the-internet-site version that is. it is the 18th of july :-)

I'm also looking for the release today. They were nice and early about announcing that today would be the date...so WHERE IS IT?

if you buy the online (serial) for 5.5 now you will get a free serial for version 6 as well. as far as i know that deal was only for the retail box version of version 5.5 before. but probably offered this deal now because of the delay?

thing i am wondering about is... if there is going to be a version 7 eventually, will the upgrade fee for me buying 5.5 now and getting 6 as well be the same as someone who waits and buys 6 straight away?

edit: typo

thijs@rdb, I asked Ahead the exact same question, and I will be getting 6 for free (just bought 5.5.10.42 to save $20). They did not seem to understand my questions (which I made as simple as I could, possibly since English is their second language), but did say that they do not know the licensing issues for 7 at this time, and recommended I buy 5.5.10.42. Here is the topic I made for this earlier:

well.. at least you got a reaction sad.gif

i have sent them an email about putting he aac clips on a website more than a week ago. only respond i got is that auto-responder saying they got my email. sent them another yesterday asking them about what the deal would be when nero 7 eventually will come out. i want to know whether the upgrade fee will be the same for my buying 5.5 now (and getting 6 later) as for someone who would buy 6 later on. no need to say there has not been any response yet...

not what i expected from a company like ahead i must say

Well, I asked in relation to a possible 6.6 version if the free update to 6 would include it (seems 4's free update to 5 did not include 5.5) and in context to upgrade pricing to 7. Gave up and decided to save $20. Since you are looking to upgrade (whereas I never legally owned Nero), I do not know what the answer is.

I would assume updating to 5.5 at this point would count for 6, but I would not bet on it.

Of course, you can put HE AAC clips that you are licensed/entitled to publish on your website as long as you don't sell them in any way, or charge for the broadcasting of HE AAC files.
