Anyone have a list of the genre codes that iTunes uses for tagging mp4 files? Even a partial list of the codes for major genres (Rock, Jazz, Classical and the like) would be helpful.

i ask, because as you import files (MP3, AAC) iTunes adds the Genres from them to the Genre list. make sense?

Hmm. That was my first thought, but the numbers didn't seem to work. A bit more experimentation is called for.

btw, had you tried splicing a "udta" atom at the end of a "moov" atom in the middle of a file, rather than "free"ing the original moov and copying it to the end of the file?
