Full Version: MP2 normalizing using BeSplit

BeSplit v0.9b5 is out, and now supports normalizing of mp2 files (beta feature)

commandline goes like this :
BeSplit -core( -input infile.mp2 -output outfile.mp2 -log BeSplit.txt -type mp2 ) -ota( -G max )
or :
BeSplit -core( -input infile.mp3 -output outfile.mp3 -log BeSplit.txt -type mp3 ) -ota( -G max )

the above commandlines would be normalizing the amplitude to max-noclip.
it is also possible to apply any gain value (like precalculated ReplayGain), by setting the manual value : "-ota( -g value )".

Please report bugs to DSPguru posting in this thread

Does this procedure involve transcoding?

As far as I know, it's not possible to normalize MP2 a la MP3 Gain.
DSPguru
loseless gain assertion.
similar to mp3gain's procedure, but abit more complicated when it comes to mp2.
