What is the official name of AAC+? I've seen it reffered to as AAC+, aacPlus, HE-AAC, AAC-HE, AAC+SBR, etc. Up until now I thought it was aacPlus since the AudioCoding.com wiki states that is the official name from the developing company CodingTechnologies, but I'm not sure it's been adopted by everyone as there's so many people who refer to it by a different name.

I've already been slightly frustrated trying to search for it, but now I have to conduct at least 4 different searches to make sure I find all relevant topics. Is there one name everyone can agree to use?

As I understand it, AAC+/AACplus is the name trademarked by CodingTechnologies. HE-AAC or AAC-HE is the name trademarked by the MPEG. AAC+SBR is just a "description" of what it is.

Ok,

aacPlus -- ™ of CodingTechnologies for the AAC+SBR technology

HE AAC -- Official MPEG name for the AAC+SBR tech used in MPEG-4 bandwidth extensions, stands for "High Efficiency AAC"

AAC-HE -- Wrong

AAC+ -- Wrong

AACPro - Wrong

In that case, would it be reasonable to suggest that everyone refer to it as HE AAC (no dash), unless someone is specifically talking about the one trademarked by CodingTechnologies? It would certainly make my searches a lot easier.
