whenever i click on a link in HA, instead of taking me to the next page, or the portal, or whatever, i get a page of this:

-6F6T$#|@2_TlB6`> |#ݹmJ;1R[mgᱯVg;$F j\--H3"SGӪ)lg{E%F}u .]:Cu(y;ody;-rgԤPub>V D+䕑Mt'%Jp[Q%4.+?m3 nΎF;-4=wR6l üX|E B;LI,7,IN H'etj4 }F&r2Eǫu lvCJ.&jFO @^p'7ˈ/{GzuVkeRke^Azu|iZSL̸3 alN,M2Aq jyx1h8"h^`$'"d04:eC4l snN3w?{@)1=SDIGIAx$ᩍ;{{*Ws4)}<\N h`!mp2%eTEf:p;cco%ɩn:+=@;& xIW[Ϟ=cٟ R)^xI=Yf k ٫KiY,YP(aF "G뫪.*.skZMъS. #]a(8A hRAi*cÔ8TV;0 Xd++C Ȱ`Ř{nVءslk0eUK$:,d|7Wn,V~,K0E0P+BL"Kŗ6Ph/%f{+ʜ˘0/3m{leOڬ/}32[5=^A?z M+d,D| ǫy%;CkP "6x2z1~$TAua3BłfxhBFk%UQ]UɅYM"UbM!|Vs8K<ZNj7 "j.1rG!b[TW<ny VR$'iڕGaYHaD<P  ahyKZm, \оV*kt Oǣu/V}L/< zsQԱz3%tbN‡ZvT8ݬdlOu,Ҋ+FXȥ. f3 rSG,/ï<=FgؿBdE'~)DU35*J~o tu5QNp&5QpY'02(7cG\JMVs&l=CMחwQI~vi fi`z J4

this occurs with some other web sites as well, but mostly with HA and a few other boards. what could cause this? i'm using the latest version of IE and wireless.

there is no possible way for me to try direct connecting instead of wireless, as i'm on the third floor and the router is on the first.

if i click refresh, the page loads, no problem. but only AFTER i click refresh. what gives?

Problems with gzip on the fly?

What browser are you using?

Hello streightedg,

Try clearing the Temporary Internet Files cache. This simple trick has solved lots of problems before.
CiTay
Try this in IE:

Extras -> internet options -> advanced

Enable "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections".
streightedg
well, i did both (del. temp. internet files AND http1.1) and the problems seems to have gone away: THANKS! it was really starting to bug me.

btw - what does that switch in advanced options do?

The HTTP 1.1 protocol has stricter rules than 1.0, and for a setup like yours (router and/or wireless), this is often needed to get rid of those display errors. For normal connections (not behind a router), IE always uses HTML 1.1.
treech
HTML 1.1 ?
