Coflicting information! I hear that you can add ape2 tags to wav files, but am never told how. I then hear that wav files cannot take extra data as they won't play in most programs or CD players. Which is it!

Latest beta of foobar2000 (0.7b21) can write APEv2 tags to WAVs.
(option in preferences - Standard input)

That is certainly not true, so long as the files are sticking to the RIFF WAVE format. Hell, you can append an ISO to a WAV file or anything outrageous like that and not have it affect a blessed thing.

That's also not absolutely correct.
Some broken players will puke on files with ANYTHING attached.
But the majority will play such WAV file without any problems.
