The long development and testing process is now over, the jv16 PowerTools 1.4 is finally here.
This might, however, be a sad news for some of you, since from now on the jv16 PowerTools is no longer freeware. The decision to convert it to a commercial product wasn't easy for the program's original author, Jouni Vuorio. He has been working in the field of freeware system maintenance tools from the age of 17, now at the age of 21 he had to made the call. The biggest actual change will be in the quality of the software.
Also, as a thanks from Jouni all the people who have helped him with the development of jv16 PowerTools 1.4 have received a personal license for free.

I'm disappointed. Another sellout of a nice freeware tool. I'll stay with the latest free version.

Damn! sad.gif

I have been using these tools for some time...it was one of the finest examples of the excellent programming that can be offered as freeware, compared to the overhyped commercial products. Pity that it moved to the other side...

Oh...

Maybe I will stick with 1.3, or try to find other softwares that have similar functions.

I've been using his utility for a while now, even the old RegCleaner program, and I think if the program is really helpful to you, it might be worthwhile to purchase it. 29.95 for a personal use license is really not that bad. On the other hand, many people will say the previous freeware versions are working just fine for them smile.gif Your call.

For those who are most interested in the reg cleaning feature, try RegSeeker. It's not bloated, has no installer, is freeware and can find reg entries JV can't. I use both Regseeker and JV16's Regcleaner - they kinda complement each other.
