Windows XP Pro SP1
M-Audio Revolution 7.1
PowerDVD 4.0

It doesnīt work with SPDIF at 44 khz!

What program can passthrough 44 AC3 or DTS files?
KikeG
Standard DVD AC3 and DTS files are 48 KHz, and Power DVD should be able to pass them through. 44.1 KHz AC3 and DTS are not standard and maybe passthrough is not possible. In order to play 44.1 AC3 or DTS files, you must use then a player that supports kernel streaming, such as foobar2000, because bit-perfect playback is neccesary, and without kernel streaming, kmixer makes it not possible.

1. make sure the output is set to SPDIF everywhere! I mean PowerDVD, sound card drivers, everywhere there is a mention of it. It doesn't auto-switch just because you put the cable in.

2. DVD's have 2 or more sets of audio files on them, one for Stereo, one for 5.1 surround, etc. make sure you switch to appropriate audio source.

@lexor
I select SPDIF in:
PowerDVD and sound card control panel.

@KikeG
All 48 khz AC3 and DTS files work well in all applications (even in WinDVB Live 2000, which is an satellite application).

Do you know another Kernel streaming application?

Iīm searching for a AC3 player.
Itīs dificult to believe for me that "play a *.AC3 44 khz via SPDIF" with a Windows XP computer is impossible.

The Core Media Player RC3 plays the AC3 44 khz file some miliseconds, but itīs all.

Note: my AC3 files are well encoded.
