I've been tagging my mp3s with ApeV2 tags, but I found that if I check the file with EncSpot, it says that the mp3s have a corrupt CRC. After I strip the tags, the CRC is ok. I was wondering if this will have any effect on decoding or playback?

Well, I have not gotten a corrupt crc message and the APE tageed fiules play just fine. So, I guess I have not really answered your question, but I told you what is happening with my APE tagged files. I use TAG to make the files.

EncSpot doesn't know ape2 tags and therefore thinks it's corrupt data.
Some players/decoders might add silence instead of skipping the ape2-tag.
Hmm ok. I use foobar2000 so it should be ok?
