I know about the adagium "When it's done", but does anyone have an idea about what timeframe one should expect with FAAD2 HE AAC decoding support?
Days, weeks, months?
And from there how soon until a Winamp plugin or MPlayer would support it?
I have difficulty sleeping!

Previously, people have stated that it should be released around the same time as Nero 6. Being that the CD version is now on sale, and the downloadable version available July 25th, I would say that HE AAC in FAAD2 should be available anytime now.

Ciao..

meaning :

input: HE AAC VBR/Stereo 50-70kbps = 68kbps 22050Hz
output: PCM 88200kbps 22050 stereo

so what will the decoding look like
with sbr..
jrbamford
If its like mp3pro then it will be treated on input and output as being 44100hz
Ivan Dimkovic
It will have the 44.1 kHz sampling rate, and frequency content in 10-20 kHz range which is missing when decoded with non-SBR decoders, like FAAD2 which is currently available.
