If you want to put Speex content into WAVE and AVI files, you can now
do so.
On http://www.openacm.org you will find the codec. Its status has
just been updated to an official release and you should no longer see
crashes when using VirtualDub and CDex.
Just be warned that the codec only accepts 8000, 16000 and 32000 Hz
because of the codec's design and the lack of an internal resampler.
This is why VirtualDub may not show you any Speex modes when using
a 44.1KHz source signal.
Make sure you download the 1.0.1.1 release and not the older 1.0.0.0
beta version. The news and project status page have some additional
information. Source code is also available (compiles best on Visual
Studio .NET 2003)
