Hi,
I need some people to test a feature of winLAME that a user reported not to function. I would be happy if at least a few participate. Btw, the latest version of winLAME is rd11.
If you use winLAME to encode files to mp3, there are several presets available, which can be selected on the "Presets Page" that directly comes after the "Output Page". A user reported that the page didn't appear, it directly skipped to the "LAME Basic Settings" page. Does this happen with other users?
winLAME is available here:
winLAME home page
thanks,
vividos

never mind, seemed that with winLAME-light, the presets.xml file was missing. Although, I am always happy when people test winLAME and report bugs or their thoughts about the program to me

Hi,
on the mentioned site I could not find ogg vorbis dll's that are compatible with the officially released ones in rc3, so they are not compatible, sorry.

sure, you should use the latest cvs ones, if john33 used this code to compile the daily binaries. And if the code changed, why don't you upgrade your program ?

Dunno... Maybe John really changed libvorbis.dll to make it fit in OggDropXP. The same way he did with lame_enc.dll to fit in his unofficial CDex version.
Anyway, I just mailed him asking clearance on the subject.
Vorbis.dll is indeed different from the one in CDex CVS, but is perfectly compatible with the 'official' one. Just made a workaround to the known bitrate bug, and added the possibility to use Q settings in CDex up to 1.40b9. (Version 1.40 stable is supposed to handle Q settings from the configuration dialog)

Roberto.

I once updated the vorbis DLLs every now and then from xiph's CVS, but finally figured that I have other stuff to do. I just update when a stable RC is out. If you want, you always can compile your DLL's for yourself and copy it into the winLAME folder. If they are compatible, they should work.

If Roberto is willing to host the separate dlls, it's no big problem to compile them. The libVorbis.dll used for oggdropXP is just an amalgamation of all the separate ones so as to make it easier to move around. oggdropXP would work perfectly OK with the separate dlls.

OK, for anyone interested, I will compile and upload the individual DLLs to Roberto over the next couple of days. They will be latest daily binaries, of course!!
